Letter to US Senator Sheldon Whitehouse

Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) made comments stating that those that don’t support health care are members of “Aryan Support Groups” and “Fanatics.”

If you are a National Health Care supporter, you know that I disagree with you.  Which is fine!  This is what America is about.  I’m not going to call you some leftist pinko.  In the Farpoint Forums, Michael Riber and I had what I thought was a great discussion about the Health Care Debate where we didn’t resort to name calling.  Michael is an European Socialist and proud of it.  I can honestly say that Michael never called me a member of a “Aryan Support Groups.”  However, US Senator Sheldon Whitehouse did on the Senate Floor.

Now, Senator Whitehouse doesn’t represent my state, but here is an email I sent his office.  I won’t hold my breath for a reply.

Dear Senator,

I know that I don’t live in you state, but I felt I needed to respond to your comments about those who are not supporting the Health Care Bill are either "Aryans", birthers or fanatics.

I will say right now that I am neither a Republican or Democrat.  President Bush disappointed me with his pro war views.  (Which President Obama seems to adopt as well.)

I assure you, that I am not a member of a "Aryan Support Group" or some right wing fanatic.  I just don’t believe that the Health Care Bill is Constitutional based on the writings of Jefferson, Franklin or Madison.

For a SENATOR to make a comment like this shows that you, sir, are in denial about the popularity of this bill.  Every major poll now shows that majority of Americans don’t support this.

Like a majority of Americans don’t support Cap and Trade, the Banker Bailouts, and the Stimulus Bill..  but you in Washington with your elitist attitudes believes that we the people can’t possibly think for ourselves.

Btw…  each bill I just listed is going to help the special interest groups without really helping the people on Main Street.

Something that the Democrat Party is SUPPOSE to stand for.  You sir, and your fellow Democrats, AND members of the Republican Party who "represent" us in Washington are out of tune with the American People.

I would like to see all of you out of Washington.  Senator, don’t get used to your chair to much.  If you keep this attitude, you won’t sit in it much longer.

If you don’t believe me, check the polls on what Independents think of President Obama and the Democrat party.

I guess you should get your resume ready.

To be fair, I did make a couple of edits based grammar errors in my haste to send the Senator my reply, but the content is the same.
