CNN Covering a Liberal Protest
I am going to be critical of CNN’s reporting, but before I do. I can already hear the liberals pointing out Fox News. Fair and Balanced? Yeah right! I am not going to defend Fox’s reporting either. It is pretty self-evident that they do have a conservative bias. I would go so far to say that they are Neo-Con biased.
Now we have established that Fox News is biased toward the Conservative Point of View, I will say again that CNN has a Liberal Bias. There are liberals in the world who don’t see this as there are conservatives that don’t see the bias with Fox.
Now to CNN..
CNN reported on the Tea Party that was held in Chicago. The CNN reporter described the event as a right winged event. To a certain extent, I can’t dispute that. However, the way the event was portrayed by CNN as a group of right wing nuts. The reporter really did not focus on the issues behind this movement.
After the report was broadcasted to CNN, the reporter got a tongue lashing by one of the participants of the event for not reporting the event fairly.
You decided… Fair Coverage?
I have to give credit and thanks to Founding Bloggers for the video.

It’s clear Susan Roesgen has some bias as this clip shows, better than your two.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2WQbNaXJ8Pw
because then you’re comparing canned piece to canned piece instead of comparing to a live situation. the 2 are completely different.
You’re also ignoring the minute or so before your clip where she speaks to one gentleman and tries to get an answer but when the answer to “Why is he a fascist” is “he’s a fascist” what can you do with that? She was a bit harsh on the guy with a kid, but again time limited situation is a tough situation when a guy won’t get to the point, I’ve dealt with it and know I was much more short with the interviewee than intended.
And Lincoln wasn’t exactly anti government intervention….
It’s clear SHE has a bias. But I hardly think that speaks to the entire network. That’s like finding a worm in one apple and burning down the whole orchard.
Meanwhile, Shepard Smith (maybe and his producer) used it as an opportunity to attack the network twice. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tjk6CSjlTVs
As well as Bill O and Fox and Friends in the following week after the fact.
So you have one attack by left wing media on the tea party. And 3 back at CNN ((Caveat this is just what I found by a reall quick “susan roesgen fox” and “Tea Party CNN” searches)) covering the core 3 day parts. So which side is showing bias as a station, which is showing the bias of the journalist?
Haven’t watched CNN lately, but during the election, Larry King and Wolf Blitzer attacked Obama pretty heavily.
I would say CNN is the most fair of the 3 major 24 hour news networks, with a slight liberal bias. MSNBC is about 7/8 in the bag for Obama as Fox is against him. The exception being Joe Scarborough and the stream of conservative commentators they rotate through their shows.
Very solid points.
I would have to say that the most fair of the big networks is probably CNN. I would also agree with you that they do lean to the left.
However, as with all networks, a lot does depend on the network’s overall philosophy and the reporter covering.
